Description

East Veil Nebula

The Eastern Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. It is an expanding cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust created by the death of an exploded star.
The Veil Nebula is a gigantic Supernova remnant divided into several sections that constitute the Cygnus Loop.
The source supernova was a star 20 times more massive than the Sun which exploded between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago.
It is estimated to lie 2400 light years from Earth.

The hardest part of processing my data was to clean up the background around the nebula. Even using 3nm narrowband filters the background was very dirty.
I used a combination of HOO and ForaxX palettes.  The blue is a bit weak but sometimes it's hard to pick the perfect palette to bring out all the colors.
