Description

The lens is wide open.

There are three versions. The original version combines the H-alpha and normal RGB exposures, and gives H-alpha a much higher weight, to mimic my impression of the LMC from the film era. In my memory, color slides can record very vivid red nebulas in the LMC, but today's DSLR photos of the LMC usually have purple or even blue nebulas (probably because of their strong [OIII] emission). I love the red nebulas, so I created a version with red nebulas, using H-alpha to overpower [OIII].

Ver.B contains very little additional H-alpha, primarily just the normal RGB. This is the modern DSLR view of how the LMC looks like.

Ver.C, the final version, sits between the above two. It gives the modern look, but still has the H-alpha punch.
