This image is a 9-panel mosaic of the Trifid Nebula, M20, with 60% overlap between the frames. Because M20 is high enough to image for only a couple of hours each night at my latitude, this image required three trips to my dark site. Integration only added up to 3.1 hours due to frequently re-positioning of the camera and due to some pesky wind the second night, which ruined most of the subs. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing and processing the images used in this project, as the skies were unusually dark and transparent, which made for some memorable time under the stars.
