Description

NGC 6946, the Fireworks Galaxy, is located about 22 million lightyears away, between the constellations Cygnus and Cepheus. It's a hard target to capture because the view is obscured by a lot of interstellar dust in our own galaxy. It's called the Fireworks Galaxy because there have been ten supernovae spotted in it just in the last century!
