Description

This was the first clear night I've had in weeks. However most of the sky was being washed out

by a waxing Gibbous Moon directly overhead. Normally I would not try and image anything

under these conditions. So I decided to pick something that was as far away from the Moon as

I could get. I chose M81 and M82 because they were located low in the sky to the Northeast and

they are relatively bright objects. It's amazing how many variables we have to deal with that

affect our imaging that we have absolutely no control over. Yet if someone was to ask any of

us if we thought having to jump through all of these hoops was worth it, without hesitation

we would answer yes. With all of that said this is my latest attempt at imaging M81 and M82.

Enjoy.
