The Sunflower Galaxy can be found in the direction of the constellation Canes Venatici, about 37 million light-years away from Earth.

It has a diameter of 65.000 light-years, making it a smaller object than the Milky Way.

From its center are long spiral arms that shine in bluish tones due to the presence of young stars of great mass, which ionize the nearby hydrogen making it shine in reddish tones through long dark filaments of dust.
