Description

A 13th magnitude planetary nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia, Abell 84 (ARO115) is roughly 2.5 x 1.9 arcminutes in size.  While not as small or and faint as Abell 79 which I recently posted, it is still a faint object that has rarely been imaged.  The OIII in the center of the object is particularly faint and probably deserves more hours to really bring it out.  This version that I have produced reminds a bit of M27, the Dumbbell Nebula.  There are only a handful of images of this small but beautiful PN on Astrobin, or on any other site that I could find.  And many seem to vary greatly in appearance.  I suspect a part of this is due to the faintness of the object and the many varied integration times, more so than simply different NB palettes and NB vs. BB images.
