Description

The first half of the 2015 Svalbard Eclipse. I've added the diamond ring to a previous version and cleaned it up a bit as I improve my PS skills.

Canon 70D, Canon 400mm F2.8 USM II, AstroZap filter, mounted on an AstroTrac portable pier. I chose the Astrotrac in part because it's one of the few mounts I found that could adjust to 78 degrees north!

I used the 70D instead of my 6D because I liked the framing better. But this August I will use the 6D to take advantage of better dynamic range. After editing these the dynamic range it really important with the bright and faint parts of the corona. Haven't yet decided on focal length, but I will probably use either the 400mm + 2X or my Tak FSQ at 530mm.
