Description

I started with the Sombrero Galaxy, but the moon was near that part of the sky, so I found M63 in a darker area. I spent most of my time on this one, but couldn't quite get a decent focus, either from the collimation or maybe poor seeing, but still managed to pull out some nice detail.

This inverted view shows the location of fading supernova SN-2017dfc, disovered almost a month earlier. Interestly, the supernova isn't actually part of M63, but behind it and about 10 times more distant!
