Description

The famous 2011 supernova in M 51, photographed in two different times: the image to the left was taken on 06/jul/2011, the other one on 01/oct/2011. The variation of the supernova's brightness is evident. In fact, in July its magnitudine was near to +14.4, while in October it increased to +15.5. The minimum magnitude (maximum brightness) was reached in the first days of June 2011 (+12.1).

Both the photos are single frames.

Telescope: newton 150/750 (July image), newton 200/800 (October image)

image 1: 60 sec at 1600 ISO

image 2: 60 sec at 800 ISO
