Description

I'm still trying to become familiar with my new little AT72ED refractor. The smaller aperture

definitely presents a focusing challenge especially with my tired old eyes. My new Bahtinov mask

makes things a lot easier and it is super accurate. If you don't use one I'd definitely recommend

it. However last night I was lazy and did not use it and my image suffered. It is very dark in

my back yard and last night I set up in the dark. I knew I was going to image Leo's Trio and

the constellation Leo was almost directly overhead and a little to the West. I did not pay

attention to the large Bradford Pear tree against my backyard fence to the West. I intended on

taking at least 40 light frames. However when I got to my 16th frame my Bradford Pear tree

was in the field of view. I also had two frames with satellites streaking across the field of view.

So I only had 13 usable light frames to align and stack. I decided to go ahead and process

what I had even though I knew there would probably be noise issues due to the low number

of light frames and there would not be as much detail captured because of the short integration time. I do get wordy don't I? With all of that said this is my first image of Leo's Trio taken

with my AT72ED refractor. Please enjoy.
