I was wondering about M42 in narrowband and found this public pool data. I blew out the core, and it looked cool, so I didn't try to bring it under control.

I used PixInsight to mix the channels a bit as I like the resulting detail and color. I did do a quick Hubble palette and even toyed with bi-color before settling back to this one. I lost some of the color depth when I applied a synthetic lum to the data.
