Description

NGC 3501 and NGC 3507 are both spiral galaxies in Leo. They look different because NGC 3501 is seen edge-on while NGC 3507 is seen face-on.

NGC 3507 appears to have two cores, but this is just and optical illusion. One of the 'cores' is actually a star in our galaxy that is in the line of sight of NGC 3507.
