Description

This object is an edge-on spiral galaxy located 250 million light years away in the constellation of Lynx at a declination of +53 degrees.  It is a magnitude 13.5 galaxy which spans 5 arc-minutes in our apparent view.

I believe that the distance data reported in SIMBAD and several papers is wrong.  Based on that data, this galaxy has a diameter of at least 350,000 light years.  That seems unreasonable to me.  I believe this galaxy is much closer and much smaller.

But regardless of that, I love superthin galaxies.  This galaxy has a length-to-width aspect ratio of 17, which puts it near the top of the most extreme cases of superthin galaxies.
