The bright emission nebula in the center of this image is NGC 3503, the rest of the image is part of the greater Carina Nebula of the S. hemisphere. Other than studies of its molecular composition and distribution, not much has been written about NGC 3503. It is, of course, an active star-forming region, with the cluster that illuminates the clouds named PIS-17. Not a household name!

My processing involved mapping the narrowband filters to a reasonable representation of their true colors, removing the stars (using StarNet2), and invoking Topaz Studio2 to refine the structures and colors. The stars were copied back in using a simple PixelMath equation.

Comments and suggestions are welcomed.
