Description

I recently posted the 1st Light image of NGC7000 with my new Samyang 135 rig. While I was pleased with the overall rig. The image was less than spectacular. As one should never evaluated a rig on the 1st light image, but inspect the image and see what can be done to improve the results.  I had star issues BAD with the first light image. focus was good. Integration with SGP was great.

Things that I changed after the first evening with the rig. I loosened the belt tension between the lens and the ZWO EAF. Way too tight and that helped tremendously. I also imaged at F2 on the 1st Light Image. I moved the F Stop on this image to F4. The next night out will be imaged at 2.8. I am hopeful that the results will be as good as this image.  I also shortened the exposure time to 60 sec for each sub. Left the 533mmPro and used the same filters. All subs were captured at 200 gain 50 offset at -10C. I know it is not an apple to apple comparison. However, I am looking for the correct configuration and best practices for this rig. Also I wanted to capture all three channels in one evening with enough subs in each channel for a good 2x drizzle. The pixel size of the imaging camera is not a great match for such a short FL, however, a good 2x drizzle will help tremendously.

I will include an Aberration Inspection image from this image as a revision. I did have several people express interest in getting a similar rig. I hope the continuing improvement of this rig will help folks decide to join to Samyang 135 club...
