Still practicing astrophotography and what best to train on than this beautiful comet.

In terms of acquisition I learned about a 500 rule and I'm now shooting mostly in 1600iso (before that I was trying to go as low as possible to avoid grainy photo but I realized stacking does a really good job at remove this). I also invested in a remote for my camera which is helping a lot, I can now take as many shots as I want effortlessly. Now I need to improve my focusing, I tried auto focus, manual focus, focusing with my laptop with tethering but I always end up with the stars slightly out of focus (this is driving me insane).

I still struggle quite a lot with post-processing, I made some improvement by using Siril built-in processing tools but I still don't know how to properly integrate a sharp, sufficiently lit foreground and I feel like my pictures sometimes have way too many stars (too bright) and it's distracting away from my main subject, in this case the comet.

Overall I'm happy with the progress I'm making but I still have a long way to go when I see some of the pictures on the front page

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
