Description

I decided to image M71 because it's been two years since I last imaged this object and I've

never imaged it with my Orion ED80 Refractor. The Moon was washing out the sky and

because of this and light pollution I could not find M71 in my eye piece. I did find M27 so

I knew I was near M71. I pointed the scope to where I thought M71 should be and took a

test shot. I wound up moving my scope 3 times and taking 3 test shots before I finally had M71 in

my image. M71 is relatively dim and small so I was pleased that I even got an image

considering the sky conditions.

Description: I looked at my image today with fresh eyes. I decided to completely reprocess
the image beginning with the aligning and stacking process in Deep Sky
Stacker and then post processed the tiff file from Deep Sky Stacker in Gimp
and PhotoScape. I'm more satisfied with this image than I was with the
original image. I was able to resolve/bring out more stars in the cluster.
I'm not overjoyed with the color but the processing kept leading me in
that direction if that makes any sense. Anyway please enjoy my image
of M71 that I reprocessed today.
