Description

Visually this years Perseid meteor shower was fantastic, on the night of the 12th (11pm-4am) it was good viewing even with the moon out, must of seen 40ish meteors, this year I also had a go at trying to image a meteor with my DSLR and my sigma 17-50mm F2.8 Lens, I was very unsure about what settings to use? as 30sec iso1600 was way out of my reach with so much LP, so used 8secs iso800 at 17mm. In the end i got about 30 actual images of meteors with about 3 that could be used cropped, (This was the first meteor image that I edited).

Having looked through 2000 images, you soon notice there are is a lot of stuff moving up there in the sky and many mysterious other things. I also learned I need to invest in a dew heater for my lens if I do this again! because at 3am on a still dark morning a hair dryer sounds like a Jet air plane and could wake the dead.
