Description

Big education for me in the Moon's Libration. Have never seen Humboldtianum as clearly as it was here. Taken the night of Nov 19th, 2020, using the CGE11 the QHY5III178M camera at focus (no barlow). I apologize for it being just a touch out of focus (still need to work on that!). I was on the hunt for other lunar objects and to my surprise I found Miss Luna was also showing her left shoulder, which she normally doesn't do. It's called libration and can be found here: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/details.cgi?aid=4768... ... I've either run right over it in prior observations but Mare Homboltianum caught my attention this time. Again, I have to be honest - I had to dig for information in this area. It's apparent that Homboltianum, Belkovich, Belkovich A appear to be lava filled basins while Hayn (up at the top) appear to have terraced walls with a center peak suggesting it's a younger crater.
