Description

12x90" Gain 0, Offset 10 ASI1600MC-C.

I wanted to capture a relatively "bleak" portion of the sky, pointed away from the Milky Way center. In this case, the shot is ~80deg "up" from the galactic plane.

HIP67543 is the top right star of the pair near the center of the frame (HIP67540 is the other one, lower left). Both of those pair of stars are ~mag7 (6.9 and 7.4) and estimated at being ~340 light years away.

The brighter star in the frame, towards lower right of the pair of stars at the center, is 6 Bootis (HD120539) and is ~mag 4.9.

An interesting thing here is to play a model of this pair of stars from -10000 to +10000 years, and see how they "walk" between the two main stars that flank them currently.
