Description

I decided that I would attempt to image M52 and the Bubble Nebula again. This time I

chose my Orion ED80 Refractor to image with hoping the larger aperture would capture

a little more nebulosity. I'm pleased with M52, the star field, and the other nebula in the

image but the bubble nebula as usual is very weak. All three times I've imaged this object the

Bubble Nebula looks basically the same. You can only stretch the nebulosity so much before

the star field is blown out. I will keep trying because if I'm anything I'm stubborn. A filter

might aide in capturing more red nebulosity. Anyway with all of that said please enjoy

my most recent image of M52 and the Bubble Nebula. Just thought I'd mention NGC 7538 is an interesting emission and reflection nebula. It is often overlooked by amateur astronomers but professionals studying stellar formation like it because it is the host to ongoing star formation, including the largest known protostar. I've seen some beautiful images of just

NGC 7538.

Description: I did a little reprocessing to try and improve the emission and reflection nebula
NGC 7538 and I removed some light gradients and noise.
