Description

My first long-exposure 2 hour (n=25 x 5 min, 0% Gain & Offset) live-stack from last night in SharpCap 3.1 using my Altair Astro Imaging & Visual Astronomy 178C Hypercam through a TS f260mm f/4.3 doublet with live dark subtraction (n=7).

This is the Spiral Triangulum Galaxy -

M33 and it's only 3 million light years away with a 66 million light year diameter (compared to our Milky Way, which has a diameter of 100mly) and contains an estimated 40 billion suns, about a 1/10th of that in the Milky Way. It is believed that this Galaxy is gravitationally bound and interacting with the closer Andromeda Galaxy and it contains the largest Stellar Mass Black Hole ever recorded.

There is a dust mote in the capture, so I need to start doing live flats calibration too! Processed very lightly in Pixinsight.
