Description

Frank Breslawski was so kind to let me use his Ha data for me to try out HaRGB / HaLRGB editing. Quite a task I have to say, to get the colors quite nice I had to a lot of fiddling with the channels. In the end I took 80% Lum of the Ha data, 20% of my own Lum data and the RGB. I had to significantly reduce the green channel to get the stars look more natural, still a lot to learn though However the increase in details is awesome, even if it can't match the orginal image ;)

The FOV's were not all overlapping so I had to crop quite a bit. With the remaining resolution every bit of noise reduction killed a whole lot of details so I ended up to skip denoising, the data was great enough to get along without.

Thank's for this great opportunity to learn Frank

Description: Ok, gave it another go with a different approach. Just combined RGB saved as tiff. Saved the registered Ha and Lum as tiff as well. Used the HDR tool in Photoshop CS to merge the Ha and Luminance and used the result as Luminosity Layer for the RGB. Much more detail and less noise. A bit "dramatic" contrast here and there but overall a lot nicer looking

Description: Ok, ditched everything and started again. Just used the Ha data as Luminance and not my own L channel data. Way smoother now, I really need to get my Ha filter!
