Description

My sky did not clear until around 10:00 pm. I decided before I went outside that I was going to

try and image NGC 2359 again but this time use my Orion ED80 instead of my AT72TD. I

was planning on taking as many light frames as I could get. However as it turned out after

a little over an hour very heavy fog moved in and so did moisture in the air. After that my

images were so degraded that it was pointless to continue. I managed to get 23 light frames

that were usable and even some of those were questionable. For me this is a hard object to

process. The bubble part of the nebula is relatively bright and shows up well in a test image.

However the arms of the nebula are very dim and do not. Usually I can't see the arms until

I begin stretching the data. Trying to bring one part of the nebula out without blowing out

the other part or the star field is challenging. Anyway I had hoped to get a better image

than I did but with that said I'm pleased that I did get an image. Please enjoy my most

recent image of NGC 2359.

Description: I completely reprocessed the image including
aligning and stacking in DSS. I was trying to bring
out more of the very dim nebulosity and also improve on the bubble.
