Description

This object is a Seyfert galaxy located 120 million light years away in the constellation of Leo Minor at a declination of +29 degrees.  It is a magnitude 11.6 galaxy which spans 5 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a large diameter of 160,000 light years.  We are viewing this galaxy about 15 degrees from edge-on.

I like the structure of the galaxy disk.  The spiral arms are well defined although hard to trace because of the nearness of the disk to edge-on in our apparent view.

The additional blue star in the Hubble mouseover is Supernova 2019NP.
