Description

The 2017 solar eclipse was partial from my location. This collage was arranged so the start of the eclipse is at the 7 O'Clock position, and ending at the 5 O'Clock position, all centered about the pre-eclipse image. Each image is about 30 minutes apart in real time during the eclipse. The images were chose from about 1600 jpegs taken over the eclipse duration. The individual images were rearranged, but not rotated--so the image rotation and the resultant semi-symmetry are a result of the use of an Alt-Az mount. I tried many ways to do a collage of the images, that the final result provided such nice symmetry came as a surprise, and which could not have been made with a polar aligned mount, except by "cheating" with a manual rotation of the individual images.
