Description

Gain: lowest read noise. Sensor temperature ~-20 C.

Messier 97 (the Owl Nebula) is a planetary nebula about 2000 ly away. It's almost a light-year in diameter.

Messier 108 is a galaxy about 46 Mly away. It has a diameter of about 110 kly.

I could not get more than 2 hours before going to bed, and subsequent nights have had poor seeing. A pity because targets like these really need more time. To try to disguise noise I've made the background very dark. Too dark I think. Makes it look a bit artificial. Must try again.
