Description

Observed and imaged Ganymede's transit of Jupiter on the night of May 20-21, 2018. Seeing varied from poor to average. Not my cleanest images, but an interesting event to observe and fun to capture.

Working to improve my planetary images after lots of reading on the CloudyNights planetary forum. I've been using only Registax for wavelet sharpening, but have started experimenting with first deconvolving the raw stacks from AS3! in Fitswork4, then color balancing and applying light wavelets in Registax6. I then deroted a series of 3 images in WinJupos10.9 to generate the final image. Each of the individual images is a stack of the best 25% of typically 8000-9000 frames captured over 60 seconds.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, custom Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, and ZWO ASI224MC. Image capture using Firecapture. Stacking in AutoStakkert3. deconvolved in Fitswork4, Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax.
