Description

NGC 7640 is a magnitude 11.1 barred spiral galaxy in the constellation of Andromeda. It is oriented edge-on from our point of view. It is located at a distance of about 30 million light years and has an apparent size of 10.5 x 2 arc minutes.

Optics: Starizona Hyperion f/8 12.5 inch, FL 2540 mm

Camera: LRGB Apogee U8300

Exposure: LRGB L:55x5.5 min R:36x6 min, G:41x5 min, B:51x7.5 min Total 18.4 hrs

This was an effort to combine subs taken on two dates with two different astrographs and cameras.

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing with Photoshop.
