Description

Seyfert’s sextet, when galaxies strip for each other.

This is another Hubble’s space telescope processing that I’ve done. It is a compact group of 4 interacting galaxies. A 5th small spiral one appears to be in the dance but is almost five times farther away. The 6th member of the sextet isn't a galaxy but a long tidal tail torn from one of the galaxies.

I used Spitzer data to fill the gap of Hubble’s WFPC2 sensor. This image is a 3 channel false color composite, where blue indicates emission at 336 & 438nm, green at 555nm, and red at 814nm. The stack has been done with astropixelprocessor ; RGB and corrections with photoshop.
