Dear Astrofriends,
As some of you may know, I'm based in the Paris suburbs now. The place is called Maisons-Laffitte.
I'd arrived in July and after all the moved was done and our marks were achieved, I finally unpacked one of the telescopes.
As the sky is horrifying awful, I decided to only setup my refractor and give it a try with it first. I'd measure the sky brightness several times and the value was never above 16.3 sqm !!!!
Can you even think in imaging under a sky like that ???
So as I'm a bit stubborn and not prepared to put my astrophotography aside for some years, I gave it a go...
NGC 281, the Pacman nebula was simply chosen because that was my nickname during my adolescence, as I used to eat too much, I thought that it'd be a nice representation of my roots.
As I thought that RGB wasn't worth to try, NB was the remaining option.
So here is my first image taken from the Northern Hemisphere, a place that I'm starting to discover.
Hopefully more images will follow...
