Description

Not very happy with the star images, but the field of deep sky objects is pretty. Blue-green Abell 4 lurks near the bottom amongst scattered PGC galaxies and barred spiral UGC 2227 in the upper right and low surface brightness (except for the core) PGC 10460 to UGC 2227 lower left. The cute little edge-on spiral right next to the galaxy is 17th magnitude PGC 2201333. Oddly, Abell 4 seems to have mistakenly been given a galaxy catalog designation of PGC 10427 (Simbad database shows this error too). Sky Safari Pro plots the PGC 10427 in the right spot for Abell 4, but plots Abell 4 incorrectly 34 seconds to the southeast.

The seeing came in and out leading to bloating of many of the stars, and some loss of detail in the deep sky objects too. I captured at bin 1 (0.5 arc seconds/pixel), but resampled it to 1 arc second since the seeing didn't warrant it. Still the stars seem too large. Maybe focus was a little out, or there was some passing dew? Going to image this again when seeing is better.

Description: Reprocessed to improve black, color saturation and contrast. Looks a little darker because stars aren't as bloated
