Description

Abell 71 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Cygnus. In the background is part of the emission nebula SH2-115. There is some controversy over the status of Abell 71. The low oxygen signal has prompted some to reclassify the nebula as an H2 region instead of a planetary nebula.
