Description

Ver.A (original) is a standard one.

Ver.B has enhanced background ionized gas and dust clouds.

Ver.C is a semi-starless version to further show the background gas and clouds.

The central star (θ Carinae) is a B0-type star. It is capable of destroying dust particles and ionizing gas. This should be why there is a large area in the middle of the image where the background is darker and there are much less gas and dust. The interstellar medium is blown away by θ Carinae. On the other hand, somewhat away from θ Carinae, we start to see ionized hydrogen (red nebulas) and dust clouds (orangish nebulas).
