Description

This was an experiment using my Sigma Art  f/1.8 135 lens stopped down to f/3.5, and an ASI 2600MM Pro. Only two hours of data were collected and there was an almost full Moon, thus the "experiment" designation. I'll need to wait until next season to work on this project again as that imaging combo is no longer in place on my MX+; I have just recently changed the configuration to run two Borg 55FL/ASI 2600MM Pro setups with one on an ADM aimer to facilitate matching FOVs, and each with a full compliment of NB and RGB filters. One 55 ries on top of a Borg 107FL and the other on top of a William Optics FLT 132. A William Optics RedCat/ASI 290M Mini guider setup is nestled between the two larger scopes, so the guider is close to each of the scopes and the two 55s are not far apart. Proximity of the guider to each scope is important as I shoot from a domed observatory and getting scope[s] and guider to see adequately through the shutter opening at certain mount positions can be challenging. Waiting for some clear nights without an interfering Moon to test it all out, but I am pretty confident it will be fine.

Having a pair of Borg 55s will greatly help take advantage of whatever clear sky I get. I've had good luck with paired RedCats, Star 71s, and FLT 132s in the past. This current collection of scopes gives me three options for FOV with the only adjustment needed being moving power and data cables from one camera to another...easy.
