This is going to be fun!

My 1st upload as a new astrophotographer. More work to do on this I know but happy to be posting. I had just started the process of building a coloured image but felt I should stop here, at least for today.

I've been blown away by the sense of power I've gotten from from something as innocuous as a 'cat's paw' seemingly rising before me and the sheer energy within a lobster. I've got to admit through, the realism of the lobster is a bit disconcerting for me and can be hard to look past. I'd love to know who provides the names.

Also my 1st use of my new Star Adventurer GTI mount which I've been waiting for for a while and looking forward to taking away on weekends, hopefully to some dark sites. I was a bit concerned that focus wasn't going to be great - forgot to do a final balance before imaging and didn't spend any time optimising autoguiding but seems to have worked out ok. I'm sure the Redcat helped.

The data is just the red channel from my ASI294MC Pro while using an L-eXtreme filter. Not suprisingly, the red channel data is by far the strongest here.

Frames: Optolong L-eXtreme: 15×600″(2.5h)
Integration: Best 12 frames for 2h.

P.S. I've attached starless and starred versions to this post as I can't decide which one I prefer.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
