Description

Jupiter on the morning of Mon 29 April 2019 - first WinJUPOS sequence.

Composite of six 80 second stacks between 1:51 and 1:59 am Canberra time.

Finally got a chance to photograph GRS hemisphere in good seeing conditions. The storm is seen approaching F limb with quite a lot of dark material swirling around it. There are also some southerly extensions emanating from the stream. In front of GRS there's a complex interaction area with red material leaking in a westerly direction. Interesting to see such a high level of activity. Also there is a dent in the North Equatorial Belt immediately above the Spot (light coloured feature).

Seeing improved with increasing elevation of the planet. I called it a night at 2:35 am when my imaging train reached maximum vertical orientation for the mount. All in all collected nearly two hours of recordings starting shortly before 1 am. Conditions were cloudless with slight wind gusts that did not impact imaging. Happy I've made an effort on this workday catching up on sleep earlier on that evening.
