Description

When I was focusing my 200 mm tele lens I suddenly recognized a longer chain of fast moving bright lights at the sky in a row, moving from West to East at about 00:55 CEST. Watched this from a region South of Mönchengladbach/Germany. I was able to do 2 quick shots of 2 seconds each with the 200 mm tele + Canon 1300d at ISO 6400 before the lights disappeared quickly.

Diameter of the front lens was reduced to 43 mm by step down rings for test shooting.

After checking the net I think I was watching the launch of 60 satellites of the Starlink project:

I wonder what this will mean to astrophotography in the future, when thousands of them are in orbits not very high in the sky?
