Description

NGC 4244 is an edge-on loose spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is c 14 million light years distant and is part of the M94 Group and thus relatively close to the Local Group containing the Milky Way. With my location and current equipment I found it a challenging target to process, especially to bring out the dust lane lying acros the galaxy centre. One the other hand, the blue regions located at the outer edges of the galaxy were visible with very little captured data.
