Description

This was predicted to be a night of above-average seeing. Overall, it was, but it was still pretty patchy. My imaging train was a C8 SCT-dual speed Crayford focuser-2.5x barlow-ZWO ADC-Canon T3i (unmodified). Each capture was 120 second long. Since my setup was giving me 30 fps, this was 3600 frames. I engaged the 5x button in the BYEOS planetary mode during each capture. I took 10 of these sessions. this was the clearest of the bunch. I processed the frames first in Autostakkert, selecting the best 14% of the frames, then used wavelet processing in Registax and tweaked the end product in Photoshop.

I think the Great Red Spot is beginning to elongate some in longitude, i.e. it looks a bit more oval these days than round.

The first version here is larger than the second. The last version stacked 60 percent of the frames, not just 14.
