Description

Hello all,

on 8.9.2021 I tried to capture this supernova remnant which can be found in the constellation Swan at a distance of about 2400 light years.

A few thousand years ago ( depending on the source between 8-15 thousand years) it ripped apart a star with 20 times the mass of the Sun and the expanding gas masses expanded at a speed of 40 km per second.
When they collide with the interstellar medium, they heat up so much that they are excited to glow.

The image processing is a bit tricky because of the high density of stars in the region (Milky Way), I can't get it any better.
Total exposure time 2 h 13 m ( 133 x 60 sec.)
I used the 150 mm Sigma on the modified Canon EOS 550 D a. Tracking with the Skywatcher Staradventurer.
Open aperture with ISO 800.

Clear Skies
Wolfgang
