Description

Engulfed in a rich star field, IC5146 is an evolving star cluster located some 4,000 light years distant in the constellation Cygnus. The central star that lights this nebula is a young hot star approximately 100,000 years old and has carved out a hole in the central portion of the glowing nebula's ionized hydrogen gas.
