Description

Galaxy NGC4100 in Ursa Major.  This possible member of the Ursa Major cluster is a highly inclined spiral galaxy with a very small, brighter core. It has narrow, grainy, tightly wound spiral arms emerging from the core with many patches of dust. Type: SA (rs) bc. Angular diameter: 5.4'x1.8'. Radial velocity: 1137 km/s. Distance: 51 mly. Diameter: 80000 ly.
