Description

Messier 5

Or the Rose Cluster, is a globular cluster of stars, consisting of over 100,000 stars bound together by gravity and packed into a region about 165 light-years in diameter. It is located approximately 25,000 light-years away from Earth. M5 is one of the oldest globular clusters, with its stars estimated to be nearly 13 billion years old. Rejuvenated stars known as Blue Stragglers stand out in shades of yellow and blue.
