Description

Same data in RGB but I have added the red channel data from 37 4minute frames with the L-eNhance filter. My first time trying this method; my biggest problem was that I couldn't get the RGB master to register to the Ha master or vice versa. I tried DynamicAlign but couldn't get it to work. I also went back to basics and registered all of the calibrated, cosmetically corrected and debayered lights from both groups to one light from the RGB batch, which should have worked first time, right? Wrong--not sure why, but I had to do that three times before it finally worked properly--no idea why. I was about to ask for help on the forums when it finally decided to play nice. From there, it was fairly straightforward. One thing I noticed now though is a much larger but faint arc running around the Flame and Alnitak, seemingly centred way out past the Horsehead; not there in my straight RGB image that I can see, or maybe it is and I just don't see it. More integration time would help--a bit under 3 hours of RGB and about the same for the Ha data extracted from the L-eNhance group. But this area is hard to get the background extracted, as there really isn't much clean background in this field. How do others handle this--I will ask the question in the forums.
