Description

Starlink v2-mini flaring.

Rev. A:
  • Starlink-31003  (58520 / 2023-191N)
  • 15th April 2024 - 23:44:33 UTC (19:44:33 local time)
  • Duration: ~210sec
  • Range:
    • Start:    1042km  (28.9° / 298.5°)
    • Peak:    570km    (82.1° / 212.4°)
    • End:      818km    (41.2° / 130.2°)

  • Seems like there are 3 separate flares on the main satellite bus. The solar panels are also brighter then in my previous images.

Rev. B:
  • Starlink-31023  (58522 / 2023-191Q)
  • 15th April 2024 - 23:34:04 UTC (19:34:04 local time)
  • Duration: ~127sec
  • Range:
    • Start:    1193km  (23.5° / 307.8°)
    • 1 flare:  842km    (39.3° / 309.8°)
    • 2 flare:  682km    (54.0° / 313.0°)
    • End:      594km    (71.4° / 322.6°)
    • (the animation ends at 71.4° alt before it reached the peak of this pass)

The data was captured with very little FPS.
All of these are 4:1 scale. The original sampling of the telescope is 0.26"/pxl. The satellites themselves reportedly have a wingspan of ~30m.
For A i stacked 330 frames in groups of 10, with 1 overlapping. The exposure time for this was 35ms / 50 gain (25%)
For B i stacked 200 frames in groups of 5, with 1 overlapping. The exposure time for this was 50ms / 75 gain (37%)

The telescope belongs to this survey: https://deeprandomsurvey.org
