Description

This is AM 1159-530 - an Arp and Madore southern peculiar galaxy. This is placed in category 1a - which is a galaxy with an interacting companion. At 204 million light years away, it is a bit hard for me to get much detail - especially with my limited equipment. However, i wanted to capture it as there are no other colour images of it and i just love these faint little fuzzies.

For comparison, i have included an image from the 48inch UK Schmidt telescope used by Arp and Madore to classify the object.
