Description

This medium size galaxy cluster is located 180 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +8 degrees.   All of the large galaxies in this image are part of the cluster.  The image captures the center of the cluster.  In total, extending outside of this FOV, the cluster includes about 20 galaxies.

The cluster is anchored by the 2 large ellipticals, NGC 7626 (at center) and NGC 7619 (at right).  These ellipticals are each almost 200,000 light years in diameter.

As usual, the spiral galaxies here are the most interesting.  I especially like the spiral at the bottom left of the image (LEDA 71159), with its wedge of brightness to the lower left side of the disk.
