Description

This image was generated from data downloaded from the MAST database of professional telescopes, in this case vary narrowband data from the Hubble space Telescope. I had just completed an M13 image and thought to see what other related images could be generated. In this case I downloaded the HST from the 438, 336 and 275 NM (max) filters, all beyond the visible spectrum. The color mapping was done according to the standard practice of assigning the longest wavelength filter to Red, the next to Green and the shortest to Blue. So 438,336,275=RGB. And this is the result. It's an interesting result.

For those interested, here is the link to the MAST database which contains all the data from the public telescopes, including those from the Hubble Space Telescope (https://mast.sts, ci.edu/portal/Mashup/Clients/Mast/Portal.html). All you have to do is understand how best to work with these data once they are downloaded. It's lots of fun. and can be challenging.

Enjoy our access.
